Bookshop Santa Cruz is delighted to welcome beloved, best-selling author and James Beard Award winner Yotam Ottolenghi. Ottolenghi will be in conversation with chef and writer Samin Nosrat (Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat) about his new cookbook, Ottolenghi Simple.

 

This offsite and ticketed event will take place at Peace United Church, 900 High Street, Santa Cruz, and will feature a recipe sampling, courtesy of The Glass Jar restaurant family, beginning at 6:00. The book discussion will start at 7:00, followed by a booksigning. Ticket packages are $40 and include one copy of Ottolenghi Simple

In Ottolenghi Simple, powerhouse author and chef Yotam Ottolenghi presents 130 streamlined recipes packed with his signature Middle Eastern-inspired flavors. Each dish can be made in 30 minutes or less, with 10 or fewer ingredients, in a single pot, using pantry staples, or prepared ahead of time for brilliantly, deliciously simple meals. Brunch gets a make-over with Braised Eggs with Leeks and Za'atar; Cauliflower, Pomegranate, and Pistachio Salad refreshes the side-dish rotation; Lamb and Feta Meatballs bring ease to the weeknight table; and every sweet tooth is sure to be satisfied by the spectacular Fig and Thyme Clafoutis. With more than 130 photographs, this is elemental Ottolenghi for everyone.

YOTAM OTTOLENGHI is the author of the New York Times best-selling cookbooks Plenty, Ottolenghi, Plenty More, NOPI, Sweet, and Jerusalem, which was awarded Cookbook of the Year by the International Association of Culinary Professionals and Best International Cookbook by the James Beard Foundation. He lives in London, where he co-owns an eponymous group of restaurants and the fine-dining restaurant Nopi.

SAMIN NOSRAT'S cookbook Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat was named "Food Book of the Year" by The Times of London, was a New York Times best-seller, and won the James Beard Award for Best General Cookbook. As a sophomore at UC Berkeley, she ate dinner at Chez Panisse and immediately decided to get a job there as a busser. Nosrat eventually worked her way up to the restaurant kitchen, becoming a cook and working with Alice Waters. She is a regular food columnist for The New York Times Magazine and has a television show in production.

 

TICKET PACKAGES: Ticket packages are $40 and include ONE ticket for entry to our October 28th event with Yotam Ottolenghi at Peace United Church, and one copy of Ottolenghi Simple.

Tickets cannot be shipped, must be PREPAID, and must be picked up at Bookshop Santa Cruz or at Will Call (starting at 6:00) at Peace United Church.

The publication date of Ottolenghi Simple is October 16th, 2018. Ticket packages purchased before that date will include a voucher redeemable for one copy of Ottolenghi Simple, either at Bookshop Santa Cruz on and after October 16th, 2018 or at the venue on the night of the event.


Most authors will be happy to add a name to their signature, but this service is at their discretion and isn't guaranteed.
