Not only is this series full of fascinating and accurate details about life in a Benedictine Abbey, Brother Cadfael’s use of early forensics and skilled observation are intellectually engaging while the characters and dramas are emotionally arresting. I’ve long loved these incredible immersive and atmospheric books.
