I absolutely loved reading this cookbook and love cooking from it. I was captivated by Knauer’s stories of his family’s farm, of the hard work that goes into running it, and of the tremendous rewards—culinary and otherwise—harvested there. Knauer is also a fantastic cook: His recipes—like Asparagus and Baby Potato Roast, Garlic-Pesto Roast Chicken, and Magic Peach Cobbler—are seasonal, homey, and oh-so-appealing. This is the kind of straightforward yet creative cooking that I adore.
