The Cold Dish is the first book in the witty, well-plotted, character-driven, completely fantastic Longmire series, my favorite ongoing mystery series. Set on the edge of a Cheyenne reservation, Johnson’s stark prose brings the wide, sprawling Wyoming wilds to crackling life while world-weary Sheriff Walt Longmire investigates a revenge killing. I cannot overstate how much I love these characters and books.
