Author Bio: 

At age 19 Jeanne Bender met and fell in love with air force corporal Arthur Bender, stationed in Great Britain during WW II.

In January 1946 she took the ocean voyage via the Queen Mary on the first American sponsored  trip for G.I brides to the U.S.A Keeping a journal of he   r experiences  and sending it to her parents, she promptly forgot it until many years after her mother died she found the journal. Based on this journal and her writings, her youngest daughter Debbie Rosas surprised her on mother's day  with this published gift. 

A vibrant 92 year old great grandmother who lives independently in Scotts Valley with her cat Boots, Jeanne has been an avid clothing designer and seamstress, knitter, gourmet chef and gardener.  She and her husband co created DeOmar Originals, a silk screened scarf company, The Yardbirds, a designer fabric store in Kirkwood, Missouri, and The Gambit, selling antique and collectibles.  At age 88 Jeanne began knitting her collection of over thirty "budoir babe" hand knitted dolls.  She continues to write, cook and entertain. She has two daughters: publisher Debbie Rosas is the creator of the worldwide Nia Technique, and Jenni Fox is a yoga teacher and artist living with her husband Paul in Felton at NamaStay yoga centre.
