Poet Ellen Bass wrote that Ghost Dogs “will haunt you the way art should. Bristling with pain, wit, desire, and tenderness, these poems investigate not only "the daily harms" of an abusive childhood, but the deep solace non-human animals can offer.”

Amanda Moore’s debut collection of poetry, Requeening (Ecco 2021), was selected for the 2020 National Poetry Series by Ocean Vuong. Her poems have appeared in journals and anthologies including Best New Poets, ZZYZVA, LitHub, and Mamas and Papas: On the Sublime and Heartbreaking Art of Parenting, and her essays have appeared in Catapult, The Baltimore Review, and Hippocampus Magazine. A reader for VIDA Review and Bull City Press's INCH series, Amanda is a high school English teacher in San Francisco, where she lives with her husband and daughter. More at

Poet and writer Ocean Vuong said of Requeening, “A rare feat for any book of poems, let alone a debut, in that the lines, wrought with such deft precision and care, mark the sum total of a life richly lived and felt at the seat of poetry...”
