Veronica Roth will be in conversation with Sarah Enni, of the First Draft podcast, on writing and this new book.

This offsite and ticketed event, Roth's only Bay Area appearance on her Carve the Mark tour, will take place at Santa Cruz High, 415 Walnut Ave., Santa Cruz. Receive a signed copy of Carve the Mark with every ticket package purchase and be entered into our Super Fan raffle: 100 lucky winners will get to meet Veronica Roth, have their books personalized, and take a photo with the author after the event.

Have a question for Ms. Roth? Submit it here and your question may be answered during the Q&A time.

Veronica Roth’s debut novel Divergent (2011) was immediately embraced by teen readers and adults alike and became an instant bestseller when the author was just 23 years old. With massive critical and commercial appeal and unstoppable international buzz, the entire Divergent series was turned into major motion pictures much to the delight of Veronica Roth’s loyal fanbase.

Now, with the release of Carve the Mark, readers will find the same elements they loved in Divergent, but the stakes are much higher. Roth has written a sophisticated, daring, and dark novel filled with hope. She creates an entirely new world, set in a solar system where the supreme power is called the current, and where each person has a gift that is an extension of their fundamental being. They must decide to help each other to survive—or to destroy one another.
