Brandon Bird is known throughout the internet from his website, Brandonbird.com, and pieces like the "Law & Order" coloring book, the Nicolas Cage colorform adventure set, and that one painting of Christopher Walken building a robot in his garage. His work combines humor and pop culture in forms as diverse as plastic lunch boxes and exquisite oil paintings.
Originally from Sacramento, he attended UC Santa Cruz from 1998 - 2002, where he was both a Regents Scholar and an Irwin Scholar. From 2004 - 2006 he was an artist-in-residence at Cornell University's Risley College. Bird is now a full-time visual artist based in Los Angeles. In 2011, he served as creature & character designer for the first season of the Emmy-nominated "The Aquabats Super Show!" Additional accolades include a Webby Award (2005, in the category "Weird") and a hug from Eric Roberts.
Brandon Bird's Astonishing World of Art is his first book, collecting his drawings and paintings in the form of coloring pages, stickers, pull-out postcards, and more. It will be available nationwide this fall from Chronicle Books.
