TICKETED VIRTUAL EVENT: Join Bookshop Santa Cruz, Graphix Con, Gabriela Epstein, and Katy Farina for a fun virtual event about the Baby-sitter's Club and the Baby-sitters Little Sister. In addition to their book talk, Gabriela and Katy will also lead a live drawing portion where they will draw characters and show us their drawing process. An audience Q&A will follow.

Gabriela Epstein is the illustrator of Claudia and the New Girl, a brand-new Baby-sitters Club graphic novel. "Vibrant, sweet, and full of energy and heart. Gabriela is going to knock your socks off!" — Gale Galligan

Claudia has always been the most creative kid in her class... until Ashley Wyeth comes along. Ashley's really different: She wears hippie clothes and has multiple earrings, and she's the most fantastic artist Claudia has ever met.

Ashley says Claudia is a great artist, too, but thinks she's wasting her artistic talent with The Baby-sitters Club. When Claudia starts spending more time with Ashley and missing BSC meetings, it becomes clear that Claudia has to make a decision—one of them has to go!

Ann M. Martin is the creator of The Baby-sitters Club, which has more than 180 million books in print, making it one of the most popular series in the history of publishing. Her novels include A Corner of the Universe (a Newbery Honor Book), Belle Teal, Here Today, A Dog's Life, On Christmas Eve, and the Main Street and Family Tree series, as well as the much-loved collaborations P.S. Longer Letter Later and Snail Mail No More, with Paula Danziger. Ann lives in upstate New York.

Gabriela Epstein graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in illustration, and has worked as a character designer for TV animation. When she isn’t making comics, she enjoys yo-yoing, listening to spooky podcasts, and watching historical documentaries. She lives in Austin, Texas. Visit her online at

Katy Farina is the creator of the New York Times bestselling graphic novel adaptations of Karen’s Witch, Karen’s Roller Skates, and Karen’s Worst Day by Ann M. Martin.
