When it’s storming outside and I want to curl up with hot tea and a book, this is the one I reach for more often than not. Celtic myth clashes with the only three mortal women who can break an evil spell. The fantasy doesn’t stop these women from being realistic, awesome characters, and the romance is sweet and sexy. Give it a try, you won’t regret it!
For lovers of a good regency read, James is an absolute must! Her books are always satisfying, they are myriad, and they often achieve that uncommon quality of surprise within the somewhat restrictive romance formula. Pleasurable indeed.
This historical romance has a little bit of a dark edge, but not terribly so. The heroine of the novel is force to marry a man who still mourns his deceased wife and children and who wasn't really looking to get over his issues. But she plans on winning him over, and with much angst and sexual tension she does so. It's a good summer read.
