About the Author

VirginiaDike is a professor and head of the Department of Library and InformationScience at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She grew up in the United States and has a BA in History from HarvardUniversity and an MA in Education and an MSc in Library Science, both fromColumbia University. She is a founding member of The Children Centre Library atthe University of Nigeria in Nsukka. Sheis an American by birth and Nigerian by marriage and has five children.
