You may submit one or more entries for the Young Writers Contest here free of charge. You may also submit entries in-person at Bookshop Santa Cruz. All entries for the 2021 Contest must be submitted by September 19th, 2021. Please read our entry rules below, and fill out the form, attaching your submission.
E N T R Y R U L E S
1. Entries may be on any subject in any genre—including fiction, nonfiction, biography, autobiography, mystery, humor, science fiction or fantasy.
2. Each entry must be an original work, submitted in the appropriate age group: 6–9, 10–13, or 14–17.
3. Word count limit: 2100 words.
4. Entries can be submitted online or at the store. Those entries submited in hard copy must have a copy of the entry form attached to the story. We are sorry, but entries submitted cannot be returned.
5. Employees of Bookshop Santa Cruz and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the contest.
6. All entries must be received no later than Sunday, September 19, 2020.
For security reasons, we cannot accept entries from anonymous accounts. To submit an entry online you must log in to an existing account with bookshopsantacruz.com or create a free account for this purpose. Children under the age of 13 must have a parent or guardian submit their entry for them. We do not share your personal information with any third parties, and we do not store the information we collect for longer than is necessary. See our privacy policy if you have any questions.
