As a journalist for the Santa Cruz Sentinel, Wallace Baine has been covering the arts scene in Santa Cruz County for 19 years, with interviews, features, film reviews and his popular Sunday column "Baine Street." He has won several state-wide awards for his arts coverage and, for his Sunday columns, he's a two-time winner of the Excellence in Writing award given by the national American Association of Sunday and Feature Editors. His new book, Rhymes With Vain: Belabored Humor and Attempted Profundity is a collection of his most witty and insightful columns from the past decade.
