What would happen if the world were ending?
Laurie R. King, A Celebration of My Bookstore
November is the month for giving thanks, and gratitude for local independent bookstores is the focus of the new book, My Bookstore. In this enthusiastic, heartfelt, and sometimes humorous ode to bookshops and booksellers, over 75 authors pay tribute to the brick-and-mortar stores they love and often call their second homes. Each essay is also accompanied by a charming line drawing (by Leif Parsons) that illustrates each storefront. In a moving essay, award-winning writer Laurie R. King pays tribute to Bookshop Santa Cruz. We are delighted that she will join us on November 15th to read her essay. The evening will also feature an interactive way to share your own stories of appreciation for independent bookstores with one another. We hope you'll join us for a celebratory event!Contribute your appreciation for local bookstores at the event, or via this webform.
