Community Book Group with Clifford Henderson
07/23/2009 7:30 pm
07/23/2009 9:00 pm
Led by Julie Minnis with a discussion of the book The Middle of Somewhere
We
are celebrating a full year of hosting our Community Book Group—a
monthly Book Group, open to everyone in the community and centered on
works by Bay Area authors. Bookshop’s celebratory pick is from our own
local (and already best-selling) author, Clifford Henderson.
Henderson’s debut novel centers on an independent, urban lesbian who
cashes out her life in San Francisco for a second-hand travel-trailer,
and sets off in search for a new life. The novel is full captivating
turns and a cast of wonderfully quirky characters, and all the humor
that you would expect from this talented author who also happens to be
co-founder of the Fun Institute, a school of improv and solo
performance here in Santa Cruz.
We invite you to read, The Middle of Somewhere, and then join us on Thursday, July 23rd at 7:30pm for a group discussion facilitated by Julie Minnis, followed by a dialogue with Clifford at 8:00pm. The Middle of Somewhere will be discounted to the whole community at 10% off its cover price until the July 23rd meeting date. We hope you’ll join us.
PS—There will be snacks and tea!!
