About the Author
Loretta Halter is a veteran public elementary school teacher with a background in dance and environmental studies. She earned her California teaching credential at San Jose State University, and currently teaches fourth grade at Seven Trees Elementary School in San Jose. Lacy's Journey is her second environmentally themed work of fiction for school-age children, in which she combines accurate natural science information with entertaining characters, events, and dialogue, to educate young audiences about marine science and environmental issues.
